Good morning,Breaking news out of Parkersburg, where a weekend apartment standoff left two dead. Police responded to Twenty-Fifth Street late Saturday when an armed suspect opened fire. Following an exchange of gunfire with city police and sheriff's deputies, the gunman was killed. Inside, officers found a second body, believed to be dead before police arrived. State police are investigating.A grand jury has indicted fifty-eight-year-old Preston D. Pierce for murder and kidnapping in the three-year-old disappearance of Gretchen Fleming. The former police officer was the last person seen with Fleming in 2022. Her remains were found last fall and recently identified. Pierce was arrested Friday in North Carolina.And crews are investigating a powerful explosion at a Belpre apartment complex on Saturday.
